The Meaning of “Señorita” by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello

There has been rumor after rumor about whether or not Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are seeing each other. The truth? No one really knows.

What we do know is Camila left her boyfriend during the time that the rumors arose and that Shawn had a really hard time getting her to commit to singing the song with him.

She loves it when he calls her señorita but why wouldn’t she, the term can actually be kind of a turn on especially since Spanish is one of the languages of “love”.

She wishes she could pretend she didn’t need him, but she cant. She is already infatuated with him and every touch draws her in even more. She knows she should stay away and that it cant last because he will be leaving soon, but he has her hooked so she continues to chase the feelings she is developing for him.

His plane landed in Miami (Her Hometown) the air was hot and humid because it had just rained. Then he saw her from a distance and he started to sweat even more, before he even got the chance to talk to her or get her name. Just seeing her made him feel a certain way.

They were on the beach dancing the night away in a very romantic “Sapphire Moonlight” setting. Under the stars, beautiful blues shining from the moon, dancing in the sand next to the water, sounds like the perfect night to me. “Tequila Sunrise” could be what they were drinking that night, or could be an expression of dancing until the sun came up, that would be my guess considering he mentions her body fitting in his hands and how that made him feel.

This is the same as above except now they wish it wasn’t so hard to leave each other.

Nothing is changing, she keeps finding herself meeting up with him at his hotel room, it’s become their rendezvous spot. He tells her that they are just friends because he knows he has to leave soon and this cant continue, but she remains hopeful because what they’re doing “friends” just don’t do.

She’s saying that her completely falling for him was inevitable and has been happening since they met and not to let her, although we’re 100% sure that she already has.

Here’s where things start to heat up! She sings about him undressing her with his lips, being hooked on his tongue, and how his “kiss” is deadly and she doesn’t want him to stop. If you don’t understand what she is getting at with all of that, you’re either lacking in sexual experience, or you’re too young to be reading this blog.

They’ve both been hooked on each other since day one and they hope they meant something to the other. But in the end whenever they need one another, they will try to be there. He said that she loves it when he comes back for her.
