I don’t normally watch the VMAs or anything on TV for that matter except football but I got talked into watching the 2014 VMAs by my girlfriend.
At the end of the show, Beyonce was presented the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and the first things out of her mouth quickly separated her from all of the other performers I had ever watched accept an award.
Everybody wants to go up there and take credit for their hard work. They start off and end by thanking a list of people including the fans, producers, and other special people in their life. They are grateful, thankful, blessed, and many more things but never have I heard anyone start off their speech by simply saying, “I’m so full”.
Those three little words and 8 little letters expressed more in that one sentence than all of the other acceptance speeches I’ve watched combined. I don’t know if anyone stopped to think about what that meant or what that phrase even means.
Being full, fulfilled, is one of the highest human achievements one can hope for while they are on earth. When in a permanent state of fulfillment they call it enlightenment. Whether or not Beyonce will remain fulfilled I don’t know, but she was definitely spiritually enlightened that night.
Typically people are always looking forward and never living in the present moment. Even while they are up there accepting an award it’s not enough. They are thinking about what great things they can do next, or what’s next on the agenda, they can never be full.
The phrase I’m so full means that Beyonce was indeed living in the present moment.
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.” – Siddhartha
Beyonce has indeed made her dreams a reality. She has risen to the top in the music industry, although she is a superstar, she became as real it gets during this acceptance speech.

To live in the moment, to be fulfilled, to be enlightened, to recognize that the present moment is all you ever have, at the age of 32, really sets an example of how to live in the present, regardless of your age.
This isn’t some secret meant for wise men and old age. We can have our peace, we can have our tranquility, and we can have our happiness right now.
We can feel how she felt, you don’t have to be a superstar, you don’t have to make a lot of money, and you don’t need an award.
She was thankful for the opportunity to reach out and touch so many lives with the work she did, she did it for herself and her family, and if you think she needed that award to be fulfilled, you’d be wrong.
She was living in fulfillment before she took the stage, money and power only amplifies what is already there.
Opportunity is often missed because it’s dressed in overalls and looks like work. Heaven on earth is a choice you must make, not a place you must find.
Start believing it, start believing in yourself, today is the first day of the rest of your life.
